Welcome
to Kid's Korner
Hi, I'm
Alexandra!
There
are a lot of things going on for kids in The Saddle River Valley.
Check out some of the stuff!

Performing
in "Grease" as Teen Angel |
- Saddle
River Cultural Center
We just finished "Grease,"
a great success. More shows planned for kids and acted by
kids are "Beauty and the Beast," "Sound of
Music," Wizard of Oz'" "Snow White," "Pinocchio,"
"Cinderella," "Sleeping Beauty," and "Adventures
of Peter Rabbit." The shows are for kids between 5 and
15 years old. At my Cavallini Middle School in Upper Saddle
River, we are rehearsing for "Everything's Groovy,"
a 1960's Revival!
|

"Grease"
was a blast! The S.R.Y.T. performed to near sell-out
crowds at the Cavallini auditorium. The reviews are in:
"Grease" is the word! Other items on
the agenda include: cast parties, fundraising and the
creation of our New York City youth theater group.

Coupe
Dance Theatre's Nutcracker, Christmas 1999 |
- We
are only 15 minutes from The New York State line. The Coupe
Dance Theater in nearby Nanuet has a wonderful dance program
for ballet, tap, modern and jazz. We performed in "Nutcracker"
at Christmas. It was hard work but a lot of fun.
|

Indoor
League Winners at Soccer Palace, Teaneck, NJ (Ken stands at
left; Alexandra in yellow with soccer ball) |
- If
sports is your thing - We have fantastic sports programs
including basketball, football, ice hockey, softball,
swimming, diving, lacrosse, hockey, track and field, cross
country, soccer, tennis and many other great activities.
|

First
Place at South Brunswick Memorial Day Tournament. (Ken is
standing at left; Alexandra in red at center) |
- My
Dad is the Coach and I play for the "Americans"
soccer team. It's a traveling team (under 12 girls), one of
32 teams, starting with Under 7 boys and girls. We play in
the Northern Counties League and in plenty of Tri-State
tournaments. The "Americans" soccer club, founded
in 1976, draws players from Upper Saddle River, Hohokus,
Allendale, Saddle River, Montvale, Ramsey, Ridgewood,
Mahwah, Wyckoff and other local towns. We have a lot of fun
and have been playing soccer since Kindergarten.

meet. |
- Saddle
River Valley Swim and Tennis Club
The Saddle River
Valley has an active swim and diving team as part of the
club. A lot of the kids and I have swim and dive meets
locally.

Summer
fun on one of New Jersey's beaches. |
- In
the summer we are 1½ hours drive from New Jersey's
miles and miles of wonderful beaches.
- There
are hundreds of parks and green acres. That's why they call
New Jersey "the Garden State."
- We
are located less than 25 miles from New York City, from
Broadway, the museums, shopping and sightseeing.
- At
Christmastime, "Santa" boards a train at Suffern,
New York, and makes all the local stops to pick up children
for his train ride and giftgiving celebration.
- My
Dad used to commute to New York City which is 35 minutes by
direct bus to Midtown Manhattan or a 45-minute train ride to
downtown New York via Hoboken.
- If
you are planning to visit or move to our area, my Dad can
send you a Relocation package, with more detailed
information on our local area and what's going on.
- The
schools in the area are ranked high in New Jersey, public,
private and parochial. Bergen County's outstanding
educational facilities provide excellence at all levels from
pre-school to post-graduate.
Upper
Saddle River, a community where people care, boasts the #1
high school (Northern Highlands Regional) in Bergen County (NJ
Monthly and The Bergen Record, December 1997) and #1 in New
Jersey (Sunday Star-Ledger, September 1997). Upper Saddle
River is 22 miles from New York.
